PROJECT: RAW EDGES
DATE: MAY 2025 This photo series captures a selection of brutalist buildings in both Breda and Rotterdam.
The series serves as the starting point for my recent project, in which I pay tribute to brutalism — an architectural movement known for its raw concrete structures, expressive forms, and uncompromising materiality. Through this visual exploration, I aim not only to document the aesthetics of brutalism, but also to evoke the atmosphere, monumentality, and emotional impact these buildings convey. The series acts as a source of inspiration for further spatial and material experimentation in my creative process.
